International Cooperation Division
Drawing on Switzerland’s long-standing partnership with China, the Embassy promotes cooperation on issues of global relevance through dialogue, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives. This includes collaboration with Chinese authorities, universities, academies, and research institutions to develop practical approaches to climate change mitigation, particularly in the areas of air pollution control, energy-efficient buildings, and sustainable heating and cooling technologies.
The Embassy also engages with Chinese international development cooperation actors to exchange experiences on development policies and practices and to advance trilateral cooperation in areas such as health and disaster risk reduction.
In addition, Switzerland and China work together to strengthen global disaster response capacities through the sharing of expertise and know-how in earthquake emergency rescue and emergency management.
