Economic and Financial Section
The Economic and Financial Section contributes to the strengthening of the Sino-Swiss economic relations. In order to implement Switzerland’s economic strategy, to provide accurate information and to deepen of our knowledge of China’s economic, commercial and financial policies, it maintains regular contacts with relevant Chinese authorities, such as, among other, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance.
In this context, bilateral visits by Swiss officials in China and Chinese officials in Switzerland are of utmost importance to ensure an efficient cooperation. The Economic and Financial Section prepares, actively participates in bilateral meetings and arranges the follow-up.
Deepening of the Sino-Swiss economic relations further includes the improvement of the overall business environment for Swiss companies in China. The Section focuses on the analysis and reporting of the economic, financial and trade environment in China and relays Switzerland's official positions and concerns to relevant Chinese authorities. The section regularly participates in official economic and business events, seminars and briefings to compose reports and updates for the competent Swiss authorities.
Trade and investment promotion tasks are performed by the Swiss Business Hub China.
